In my opinion blueberries make any dish (or drink) taste fantastic. One of my favorite weekend breakfasts to wake up to is blueberry pancakes! So when I’m in a rush out the door on an early weekday morning, and am craving a heaping stack of pancakes drenched in blueberry syrup, my go-to smoothie is this. It’s the creamy, dreamy blueberry banana smoothie recipe of my dreams – and hopefully yours 🙂
It’s not nearly as sweet or sugary as blueberry pancakes drenched in maple syrup, but it does the trick and is bursting with nutritional goodness.
Creamy Blueberry Smoothie
- 1 banana, sliced and frozen
- 1/2 cup blueberries, frozen
- 1 cup unsweetened plain almond milk
- 1 tbsp creamy almond butter
- 1 tbsp organic, finely ground flaxseed
Add almond milk and banana slices to your blender, blend on low for 30 seconds.
Add the blueberries, almond butter and flaxseed and blend for an additional 30 seconds on medium.
Pour into a glass and enjoy!
