BBQ Cauliflower Wings

Just in time for BBQ season, these wings are smothered in sauce and baked until they're extra hot and crispy. They are perfect for a quick, easy weeknight meal or to take to picnics!

Ingredients

  • 1 head cauliflower, sliced into chunks
  • 3/4 c vegan flour
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 3/4 c plant-based milk we used oat milk
  • 1 c BBQ sauce we used Dinosaur BBQ
  • 2-3 green onions, sliced

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.

  2. Mix the flour, garlic powder, sea salt and black pepper in a medium-sized bowl. 

  3. Slowly add in the plant-based milk, whisking until creamy.

  4. Dip each bite sized cauliflower chunk in the batter and place on the baking sheet approximately 1/2 inch apart.

  5. Bake for 10 minutes and then flip. 

  6. Bake for an additional 15 minutes. 

  7. Meanwhile heat the BBQ sauce in a saucepan on low heat. 

  8. Transfer the baked cauliflower to a medium bowl and slowly fold in the warmed BBQ sauce, until all pieces are coated evenly. 

  9. Transfer the caulflower back onto the baking sheet and bake for another 25 minutes. Flip halfway through! 

  10. Once the timer goes off, increase the oven to "broil" and bake for 2-3 additional minutes if you'd like them to be extra crispy.

  11. Remove the cauliflower from the oven and brush with additional BBQ sauce to taste.

  12. Sprinkle green onions on top and serve immediately. 

Notes & More

Serve with your favorite blue cheese dip alternative, or my favorite, Creamy Caesar dressing. The flavors are insane!
